Important safety information >>

Lasix may be combined with other blood pressure medications for best effects, but make sure you do not combine it with any medicines yourself. It’s up to your health care provider to decide which drugs Lasix can be combined with to provide for its maximum efficiency and safety. It may take you several weeks to feel the effects of Lasix if you are using it for high blood pressure. It’s very important that you continue taking this medicine regularly throughout the entire period of your treatment and avoid missing or skipping doses. Taking too much of Lasix can produce some or any of the following symptoms: weakness, drowsiness, muscle pain, vomiting, nausea, irregular heartbeat, low blood pressure, and dry mouth. Make sure you report them as soon as possible to your local emergency center. Lasix can lead to low potassium levels. The symptoms of decreased potassium levels can be: rapid or irregular heartbeat and muscle weakness. Your health care provider will probably recommend a diet that would include plenty of potassium-containing products, such as raisins, bananas etc. Such health conditions as liver disease, diabetes, gout, connective tissue disease, and kidney disease may require a dose adjustment and need to be reported to your health care provider. It is not known for sure how Lasix can affect the health of an unborn or nursing baby, so pregnant or breastfeeding women should never start taking this medicine without previously talking to their health care provider. Do not take Lasix along with aspirin, ethacrynic acid, aminoglycoside antibiotics, norepinephrine, other high blood pressure medications, sucralfate, indomethacin, or lithium, as unpleasant health effects are possible.
